In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Archie, her siblings, Alma Nappier, Ardell Wagner, Inez Webster, Harvey Anderson and Elsie Anderson. One grandchild, Jason Guenzler, one great-grandchild Esther Guenzler. She is survived by all her children, 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.
Altha was a self taught cook, seamstress and pianist. A depression era woman, opportunities were few, but her determination was great to learn and do the things she loved. Altha loved working outside in her garden and on the farm, when the weather wasn’t good for outside work she would sew, quilt, embroider or read. Her cooking was adored by all who ate it, and if she knew you particularly liked something it was usually on the table when you visited. Our family loved the impromptu biscuits and gravy gatherings where word would spread and the grandkids would just keep coming and eat in shifts. Mom adored those times. There was no better mother or grandmother. You never doubted you had her full attention and whatever was going on with you was of utmost importance. She loved completely and unconditionally and was selfless as they come. But most of all Mom was known for her Christian character, she was an amazing example of Christ in her words and her actions.
Altha asks that in lieu of flowers donations to the American Legion (Catawissa post) and DAV (Disabled American Veterans) be made.
