Anthony Robert Thompson Obituary

ANTHONY ROBERT THOMPSON was born November 8, 1943 to Robert and Marie Thompson.  He was the fourth of seven children.  His father Robert and brothers Wilton and Harlan precede him in death.

He was baptized at an early age by Reverend M.L. Cole at Union Baptist Church of Chesterfield.

He was educated in the Rockwood School District graduating from Eureka High School.  He attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.  After college he joined the United States Navy.  He served in the United States Naval Reserve.  During his military career, he achieved the highest scholastic average of his class.  He served from July 31, 1964 to November 8, 1976.  He was honorably discharged.  After the Navy he was employed at Boeing until he retired May 31, 2000.

He was united in marriage to Sonja Adams on May 8, 1983.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Sonja; daughter Maxcine Clair; great-nephew DeVonta Brison; mother Marie, brother Therone (Ruth); sisters Cecelia, Vera (Reginald) and Kimberly; four grandchildren, six great-grandchilren, five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law, two uncles, two aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mr. Thompson is Friday, July 24, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Union Baptist Church of Chesterfield.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at the church at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Harvey Fields officiating.  Interment is in Unions Baptist Church of Chesterfield cemetery.

The Thompson family was served by Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri.
