BESSIE LOUISE HAWKINS (nee Boles), Catawissa, passed away September 3, 2019 at the age of 83. Mrs. Hawkins was born in Sebree, Kentucky on April 25, 1936 to Buddy and Rachel (nee Jennings) Boles. She was married to Ellsworth Hawkins on June 17, 1954 in Shawneetown, Illinois. In addition to her husband, Bessie was preceded in death by both of her parents, one daughter, Diane Hawkins, one brother, Robert Boles and one sister, Geraldine Robb.
Mrs. Hawkins is survived by three daughters, Kathy and husband Shaabani Mandela, Urbana, IL, Vicky and husband John Heard, St. Louis, Paula and husband Dan Murray, Catawissa, five sons, Steven and wife Dodi Hawkins, Evansville, IN, Michael and wife Connie Hawkins, Pacific, Benny Hawkins, Catawissa, Dennis Hawkins, Catawissa and Patrick and wife Diane Hawkins, Eureka. She is also survived by one brother, Bill and wife Patti Boles, Evansville, IN, six sisters, Margie Fairchild, Evansville, IN, Loretta and husband Jim Van Pell, Evansville, IN, Jeannie Boles, Evansville, IN, Deanna Alvey, Evansville, IN, Shirley and husband Bill Bolton, Evansville, IN, Debbie and husband Mitchell Cox, Evansville, IN, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hawkins was a long-time member of the Crestview Christian Temple.
Visitation for Mrs. Hawkins is Friday, September 6, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific. 11:00 A.M. funeral services will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Calvary Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bob Newton and Rev. Patrick Singleton officiating. Interment is in Brush Creek Cemetery, Gray Summit.
