CAROL-LOU KOEPKE (nee Reents), passed into peace surrounded by love at her home in Pacific, Missouri the evening of September 28, 2024. She was born on April 2, 1941 in Hopkins, MO to Carl J Reents and Nedra H Nickels. Carol-Lou is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stanley A Koepke, son Andrew A (Carrie) Koepke, grandchildren - Skylar and Sage, sibling Jerry Reents, and an extraordinary array of bonus family. She was preceded in death by both parents, as well as siblings Carl and Rita-Kay.
Carol-Lou gained a bachelor's degree at Maryville, then boldly sought adventure and a Masters of Library Science in Florida. She never stopped seeking new knowledge, with a steady thirst for books and experiences. As Carol-Lou traveled the world, she recorded her life meticulously to ensure every treasured moment was remembered. A most common sight was Carol-Lou thoughtfully documenting alongside a boiling cup of coffee.
A dedicated Rural Letter Carrier of the U.S. Postal Service for over twenty years, Carol-Lou was also an active member of Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, and was always part of a thriving and diverse social network.
A true observer of life, Carol-Lou collected experiences, flavors, conversations, and people. She surrounded herself with treasures that reminded her of memories loved and reflected on a life well lived. A seemingly reserved woman, she was full of spirit and voice and many were lucky to unveil the laughter and spirit behind her quiet contemplation.
Carol-Lou always felt like she had much to learn from everyone she met. In truth she quietly gifted those around her with the greatest of wisdoms including: the answer to chocolate is yes, read more, take notes, and love everyone (including yourself) with abandon.
Celebration of Life will be held at Bell Funeral Home in Pacific, Missoruri on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation or The American Stroke Association are welcomed.
