Caroline Elizabeth (Ensinger) Schirmer Obituary

CAROLINE ELIZABETH SCHIRMER (nee Ensinger), “Asleep in Jesus,” passed away February 21, 1961 at St. Francis Hospital in Washington, Missouri at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 5 days.  Daughter of the Late Elizabeth and Charles Ensinger, born September 16, 1882 in Williamson County, Illinois.  Entered into wedlock, March 24, 1915 to Charles L. Schirmer.  Preceded in death by her husband Charles. 


Survived by her children, Edward Ensigner, Pontiac, Michigan and Virginia L. Purcell, Pacific, Missouri; three sisters, Mrs. Katie Flowers of Zeigler, Illinois, Mrs. Emma Wiklerson of Valier, Illinois, Mrs. Ida Ahefeld of Benton, Illinois; and a brother, Oscar Ensinger of Christopher, Illinois; and 1 grandchild, June Purcell.


Mrs. Schirmer had made her home in Pacific, Missouri with her daughter, Mrs. Purcell for the past year.  Her health has been failing her for the last eight months. She had lived in the Du Quoin area for the past 36 years. 


Mrs. Schirmer will be sadly missed by all, and leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her passing.


Interment was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Pacific, Missouri


The Schirmer family was served by Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri.
