DAVID JAMES MOONEY, of Pacific, Missouri, passed away August 12, 2004 at the age of 72. Mr. Mooney was born June 12, 1932 in Union, Missouri to James C. and Pearl (nee Kleeme) Mooney. On March 19, 1955, Mr. Mooney was married to the former Bery Schmelz in Corince, Mississippi. In addition to his wife her is survived by one son, Steven and wife Nancey Mooney, Pacific, one brother John and Wife Ann Mooney, on sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mooney, five grandchildren, Mat, Jason, and Jared Mooney, Stephanie Martin, and David Gullet, two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Zachary Ahern, and many nieced, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one daughter, Patricia Mooney, two brothers, Thomas and Edward Mooney, and one sister, Betty Curran.
Mr. Mooney served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Local 513 Operating Engineers for over 54 years and was a longtime member of the Pacific Eagles.
Visitation for Mr. Mooney is Tuesday, August 31, 2004 from 11:00 A.M. until Noon at Bell Funeral Home with funeral services following the visitation. Interment is in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Pacific, Missouri.
