DOROTHY MARIE PONTIOUS (nee Skelton), of Pacific, Missouri, passed away December 19, 2025 at the age of 88 years, and 25 days.  Mrs. Pontious was born November 25, 1937 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Bill and Gladys (nee Fisher) Skelton.  She was united in marriage to Eugene Martin Pontious on January 26, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri.  Mrs. Pontious was preceded in death by both her parents; one brother, Leroy Pontious; one sister, Joyce Skelton; one granddaughter, Julie; and two great-grandchildren, Keelan and Aiden.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Gene; four children, Bonnie and husband Ken Swallows, Susan and husband George Niehaus, Peter and wife Judith Pontious, and Kelly husband Danny Wallace; one sister, Martha Gaffney; eleven grandchildren, Tara, Amy, Dana, Mark, Geoff, George, Chris, Vicki, Michelle, Melissa, and Brittney; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Pontious enjoyed bowling, reading, was an avid baseball fan of the Cardinals and the Brave.

Visitation for Mrs. Pontious is Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with Pastor Tommy Schmitt officiating.  Interment is in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
