Dr. John Bell, of Washington, Missouri passed away July 3rd after a brief illness at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO.  Mr. Bell was born March 22, 1952 in Betheny, Missouri to David & Donna Bell.  He was united in marriage to Alice Lynette “Lynn” Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents, David & Donna Bell; his baby brother, Howard J Bell; his grandparents; Uncle Carol and Aunt Bell.

Dr. Bell is survived by his wife Lynn, son David and his wife Rachel; Grandchildren: Sean and Kaitlin Lutz siblings: Anita Bell (North Augusta, SC), Clifford Bell (Bethany, MO), Cathy Bell (Hockinsmith) (Lexington, KY), Mary Bell (Watkins) and Kevin Watkins (Indianapolis, IN), Janet and Larry Hillman (Gallatin, MO), Carolyn Bell Fox and Sean (Bastrop, TX). Nieces and nephews: Morgan Hockinsmith, Catherine Watkins, Joshua Fox, and Jordan Fox and Tyler Warford. Numerous friends and colleagues from Lindenwood and Lowes (Washington, MO) and Berlin and Dussedorf, Germany.

John received his PHD in English from Tulane University in 1992.  Taught English for 22 years at Lindenwood University.  Travelled to Germany numerous time with students and without.

In lieu of  flowers, donations to the Humane Society is appreciated. John will be cremated per his wishes.
