EDWARD J. 'Junie' GEBHARD, lifelong area resident, passed away August 25, 2011 at his home that has been in the Gebhard Family for more than 100 years. He was 80 years old. Mr. Gebhard was born January 16, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri to Erhard and Anna (nee Lutompski) Gebhard.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one sister, Mary Ann Mooney and one brother, John Gebhard.
Mr. Gebhard is survived by his wife, Kathryn (nee Kelley) Gebhard, five children, Donald Gebhard, Kennewick, WA, John and wife Laura Gebhard, Pacific, Diana and husband Earl Kirkland, Henderson, TX, Marsha and husband James Napoli, House Springs and Edward Gebhard, Jr., St. Clair, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Junie was a retired member of the Operating Engineers Local 513, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 320 and Commander of VFW Post 6665. Mr. Gebhard proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Army.
Visitation for Mr. Gebhard is Sunday, August 26, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific. A 10:00 A.M. funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Patrick's Rock Church in Catawissa. Interment with full Military Honors is in St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery, Pacific.
