Eugene Martin Pontious Obituary
Eugene Martin Pontious, born June 24, 1933, in St. Louis, MO and passed away April 24th, 2026, in Pacific, MO
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife Dorthy Ponitious, parents Peter Pontious and Martha Pontious (nee Roff). Brothers and sisters and 3 great grandchildren (Keelan, Aiden, Marley and Julie).
Eugene is survived by his 4 children, Bonnie Swallows (husband Kenny Swallows), Susan Niehaus (husband George Niehaus), Kelly Wallace (husband Daniel Wallace) and Peter Pontious (wife Judy Pontious), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Eugene served in the United States Army and worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing until he retired.
Eugene and his wife Dorothy travelled extensively in the west. They loved the western part of the United States, especially Las Vegas. Eugene loved westerns, so visiting these western states was no surprise. When you walked in their house, if the Cardinals baseball game wasn’t on, it was a western. Gene and Dot visited their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the various parts of the country they were living in.
Gene and Dot spent a lot of their time bowling, watching baseball and reading. They bowled with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They especially enjoyed bowling with Pete, Chris, Geoff and Tyler. They spoke about bowling with them often.
Gene and Dot lived fruitful lives. They lived the lives they wanted and ensured they passed on their love for life to their children. Gene and Dot’s lives were lived full of love, and that is what they want their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to know and to live. Family is everything. Their love was an endless kind of love and that is what they want for their family.
