George Wright O'Brien Obituary

GEORGE WRIGHT O’BRIEN, of Pacific, Missouri, passed away January 26, 2025, at the age of 98 years,11 months, and 12 days. Mr. O’Brien was born February 14, 1926, in Paris, Texas, to Frank and Mollie (nee Veitch) O’Brien. Mr. O’Brien was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children Betty Tooley, his sister Gladys Craddock, brothers Harold, Allie, Edward, and Frank, sons George and Michael, 3 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
He is survived by his sons Richard O’Brien (Barbara Drewes) and Frank O’Brien, daughter Sherry Hawthorne, granddaughters Alysia Horst and Tabatha Coker, grandson Tony O’Brien,  and 12 great grandchildren.

Mr. O’Brien served his country as a B-24 nose gunner in the 72nd Bomb Squadron, 5th Bomb Group (H), 13th Army Air Force in the Pacific in WWII. He was a member of the 5th Bomb Group (H) Association, The American Legion, and the VFW.

Mr. O’Brien retired from the Boeing Aircraft Company in St Louis in 1991. He spent much of his retirement years living in Butler County Missouri before moving back to the St Louis area in 2018.

Services will be private.
