JAMES MILLAR REED,  of Pacific, Missouri, passed away March 4, 2025 at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 5 days.  Mr. Reed was born September 27, 1939 in Kirkwood, Missouri to James A. and Mary Elizabeth (nee Millar) Reed.  He was united in marriage to Evelyn "Sue" Kimbler on September 7, 1961 in Union, Missouri.  Mr. Reed was preceded in death by both his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife Sue; his daughters, Susan "Heather" Frey and husband Robert III, and Jennifer Melissa Reed;  his grandchildren, Aubrey, Elizabeth, and Robbie; his brother Thomas Bruce Reed; other relatives and friends.  

Mr. Reed was a member of the Pacific Presbyterian Church since 1949; a Mason for 63 years as a member of Columbia Lodge 534 and later Gray Summit Lodge #173; The Moolah Mounted Lancers since 1989; Professionally, he retired from Six Flags after 32 years.  He was one of the original employees.  His first job was with the Pacific Ice Plant;  He delivered mail locally; He was a Pacific Police Officer for five years and worked in real estate, often having multiple jobs at once.  Jim was a jack-of-all-trades; he enjoyed farming, and his animals.  He was full of life.  He loved working with the children at the Shriner's Hospital, as a sponsor for his church’s youth group, and at Mound Ridge, a Presbyterian campground in Crawford County, Missouri. 

Visitation for Mr. Reed is Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri.  Funeral services are Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pacific Presbyterian Church.  Interment will follow at Bellfontaine Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Memorial may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children or the Pacific Presbyterian Church.
