JoAnn (Carmon) Bates

JOANN BATES (nee Carmon), of Pacific, Missouri,  passed away October, 9, 2024 at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 13 days.  Mrs. Bates was born February 27, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Wyman F. and Izetta Martha (nee Maness) Carmon.  She was united in marriage to Curtis Bates on June 22, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri.  Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, Curtis; one son, Gary Bates; one daughter-in-law, Loren Bates; one brother Robert Carmon; and one grandson, Jonathan Bates.

Mrs. Bates is survived by two sons, Curtis R. Bates Jr. and wife Michelle and Michael Bates; her sister, Betty McCormick and husband Bill, Ballwin, Missouri; Sister-in-law, Colleen Carmon, Catawissa, Missouri; her grandchildren, Emily Lawson and husband Kyle, Elizabeth Black and husband Steve, Michael Bates Jr. and wife Kayla, Jeremy Bates and wife Katie; her great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Aliea, Carter, Bart, Will, Jet, Ellie, and Theo; other relatives and many friends.

She enjoyed painting and Crafting.  She was devoted to her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Mrs. Bates is Monday, October 14, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Stan Gibson officiating.  Interment is in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Pacific, Missouri.
