With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Mary Tucker (nee Mitts), who passed away on September 8, 2025, with family by her side, at the age of 74. Mary was born in St. Charles, Missouri, to Barney and Beatrice (nee Stone) Mitts. Mary lived a life filled with love, happiness, and laughter.
Mary married Robert (Bob) Tucker, and they spent decades together celebrating life’s ups and supporting each other through life’s trying times as well. Together they raised seven wonderful and beautiful children. Mary spent her early adult years as a home maker raising her children; she then worked retail in the fashion industry, before working at and retiring from Chrysler. Mary enjoyed spending time bowling, going on “Corvette runs” with friends in The Corvette Club, going out with her lady friends in The Red Hat Society, working as a volunteer at Election Polls; and cherished every moment spending time with her nineteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was looking forward to meeting the newest addition in February 2026.
Mary is survived by her loving husband and also very compassionate caregiver, Robert (Bob) Tucker, her children: Lisa (Josh) Brown, Monica (Gary) Birkemeier, Brandi (Jimmy) Cantrell, Rob (Erin) Tucker, Melissa (Mike) Beffa, Michael (Becky) Tucker, and BJ (Kelsey) Tucker; her grandchildren: Melanie (Heath), Carter, Brooke (Jack), Lauren, Christopher, Matthew, Kristina, Jimmy, Kayla, Chase, Kate, Will, Hannah, Alexa, Ava, Austin, Chloe, Josh and Hattie; and her great-grandchildren: Colten, Evan, Konner, Beau, Colten, Tripp, Thea, Matthew, Archer, Lucy, Eleanor, Waylon, and one due to arrive in February 2026; her brother Max Mitts, mother in law Verna Tucker, sister in law Peggy Bauer, brother in law Mike Galkowski, Jim (Peggy) Tucker, and many other family members and friends; our village is huge! Mary was preceded in death by her parents Barney and Beatrice Mitts; sisters Joan (at birth), Cathie Galkowski; brothers Jim, Bill and Tony Mitts; father -in-law Robert Tucker; brother-in-law Herm Bauer, and great niece Anna Bauer.
A celebration of life will take place on October 4, 2025 from 12-3pm, at the Expo Center, Washington, Missouri, a luncheon will be provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause close to Mary’s heart.
Mary had a way of making everyone feel special, cared for, and loved! She loved her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all of her heart. Her loss will be felt by all of her loved ones. Mary loved life with all of her heart and will be missed so much by all of her family. Mary was an amazing woman and the strongest person we have ever known. Mary was not a quitter with any of the challenges that life threw her way. Through all the tribulations we have been through, we may be many things, but we ain’t ugly!
