Nicolas Gene Herbst

NICOLAS GENE HERBST, of Robertsville, Missouri, passed away January 27, 2024 at the age of 60 years, 1 month, and 29 days.  Mr. Herbst was born November 30, 1963 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Maynard Lee and Ilean Lavern (nee Palmer) Herbst.  He was united in marriage to Christina Ann Schnieder on May 24, 1986 in Union, Missouri.  Mr. Herbst was preceded in death by both his parents; and one sister, Vineta Herbst.

In addition to his wife, Christina, Mr. Herbst is survived by three sons, Jason and wife Amanda Schnieder, Curtis Herbst, and Caleb Herbst; one  brother, Phil and wife Phyllis Herbst, Union, Missouri; and one sister, Georgeanne and husband Steve Moniz, Canada; three grandchildren, Tucker, Ava, and Jacob; other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. Herbst loved to work on his race cars, racing, hunting, fishing, boating, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Opera House of Pacific, 220 South First Street, Pacific, Missouri 63069.  A private burial will occur at a later date at Brush Creek Cemetery.

The Herbst family has requested memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
