NORMAN NELSON MEYERS, passed away at his home, July 3, 2002 in his 82nd year.  Mr. Meyers was born February 5, 1920 to Sylvester and Judah (nee Fryer) Meyers in Stanton, Missouri.  He was united in marriage May 19, 1949 to the former LaVern V. Lamke at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Washington, Missouri.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Steven G. Meyers; one brother, Dan Meyers; and two sisters, Myrtle Mueller, and Daisy Kober. 

He is survived by his wife LaVernV. (nee Lamke) Meyers; one son, Tim and wife Susie Meyers, Jonesboro, Arkansas; two daughters, Patti and husband Eddie Busse, Labadie, Missouri, Mella and husband Glenn Strunk, New Melle, Missouri; four sisters, Mildred Winkle, Rose Mary and husband Paul Cross, Mable Stahlmann, June Kessler; two brothers, Kenneth and wife Thelma Meyers, Jerry and wife Shirley Meyers; six grandchildren, Rob and Andy Meyrers, Ethan and Leigh Busse, and Holly and Bray Strunk; and 24 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Meyers was a decorated veteran of World War II, having served his country in the European Theater as a member of Patton’s Thirds Army as a Medic/Ambulance Driver.

Mr. Meyers was a charter member of Carpenter’s Union Local 1310 and 1839.  He also was the owner and developer of Pebbles Beach Sand ang Gravel Company in Pacific, Missouri.  Mr. Meyers was a member of St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic Church in Pacific, Missouri and American Legion Post 1000.

Visitation for Mr. Meyers is Thursday, July 4, 2002 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri, with funeral services Friday, July 5, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic Church.  Interment is in the St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic Church Cemetery, Pacific, Missouri.  Masses and memorials may be made to the St. Bridget School Scholarship Fund.
