RALPH EDWARD BROWN, of Labadie, Missouri, passed away May 23, 2024 at the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 12 days. Mr. Brown was born December 11, 1942 in Tell City, Indiana to Henry and Frieda (nee Jarboe) Brown. He was preceded in death by both of his parents of Labadie, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth Brown, Labadie, Missouri sisters, Betty Fields of Gerald, Missouri and Lorene Everhart of Cadet, Missouri.
Mr. Brown is survived by his children, Michelle Siebert and husband Jeffrey of Washington, Missouri, Robert Brown and his mother Karen Sadler of Washington, Missouri, and Melissa Heimann of Washington, Missouri; his brothers, Paul Brown and wife Dorothy of Owensville, Missouri, Jerry Brown and wife Yvonne of Washington, Missouri, Raymond Brown of Washington, Missouri, and Richard Brown of Labadie, Missouri; a sister, Wand Mizner and husband Gale of Gray Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Andrew Siebert and wife Jaime of Fenton, Missouri, Lindsey Goldsmith and husband Timothy of St. Charles, Missouri, Devin Heimann of Washington, Missouri and Dominic Heimann of Washington, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Alexander Siebert, Roralye Siebert, Magnolia Goldsmith, and Noah Siebert; other relatives and friends.
His family moved to Gray Summit, Missouri in 1959 so his father could work at the Chrysler plant in Fenton, Missouri. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962-1965, and in the Army Reserves from 1965 to 1967, when he was honorably discharged. He started work for the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Missouri in 1966 and he remained there until his retirement.
Ralph had a life-long love of reading. He read all types of non-fiction books, from beekeeping to horses to military history and everything in between. He kept lists of the books he wanted to read. He also enjoyed documentaries on television. Ralph collected coins and frequently gave old silver dollars as gifts to his children and grandchildren. He often went to garage sales and resale shops, always looking for a good find which was frequently given to friends and family. He was a generous person known for handing our soda to the neighborhood kids. Ralph liked to read the Bible and he wrote dozens of his favorite passages on bookmarks which he saved.
Visitation for Mr. Brown is Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment is in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, Missouri.
