ROBERT F. “BOB” BERG, age 98, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at his home in Gray Summit, surrounded by his loving daughters. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bob’s life was marked by kindness, dedication, and adventure.
Born on March 22, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, Bob spent his childhood moving across several states, from Illinois to California. In 1944, he proudly joined the military, serving in the Army Air Forces during World War II. In 2018, Bob was honored to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in recognition of his service.
Bob was preceded in death by Pava Renn, his beloved wife of 70 years; his parents, Frank Berg and Callie Kinsall; his half-sister, Imogene, and her husband, Frank; and his son-in-law, Raymond Lingua.
Bob had an unwavering work ethic and a zest for life. He was passionate about camping and traveling, creating cherished memories with his family on countless adventures. He had a special bond with his two grandsons, Brian and Nick, whom he adored. Despite a challenging childhood, Bob was known for his selflessness and willingness to help others. He left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Lingua and late husband Ray Lingua, Pamela Partl and husband Michael; his grandchildren, Brian Lingua and wife Ann, Nicholas Lingua and Mercedes Sosa; his great-grandchildren, Kirsten Ruiz, Kyleigh Lingua, Christian Lingua, Emily Lingua, and Clementine Lingua; his step-grandson, Jeremy Partl; his nephew, John Inboden and wife Joanie; other family members and many dear friends.
Bob’s life was a testament to love, family, and service. He will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him and will be forever remembered.
Visitation for Mr. Berg is Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Johnson, officiating. Interment with full military honors is in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on July 14, 2025 at 2:30 P.M.
