ROBERT JOSEPH McDERMOTT, 70, Villa Ridge, Missouri, died Friday May 19, 2000.

He was born June 11, 1929, at St. Louis, Missouri, son of John J. McDermott and wife Elizabeth, nee Ring.

On June 19, 1971, he was united in marriage to Josephine Sardella.

Mr. McDermott has worked for Purina Farms, Gray Summit, Missouri for 40 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Gray Summit United Methodist Church and a member of Pacific Eagles.

Mr. McDermott was preceded in death by his parents; his son Carl Mays; and his sister, Mary Daley.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine McDermott, Villa Ridge, Missouri; two sons, Robert McDermott and Joseph McDermott and wife Dena, all of Pacific, Missouri; two daughters, Pat Randolph and husband Rod, Plano, Texas, and Belinda Schiller and husband Charles, Union, Missouri;  11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 22, 2000 at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri, with Rev. Judith May officiating.  Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

The McDermott family was served by Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri.
