Roger “Larry” Hoots, age 74, of Villa Ridge, Missouri, was born on March 27, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri, to Billie Reed Hoots and Wilma Jo (Hunter) Hoots.

Larry was united in marriage to Betty L. Twinn on October 3, 1970, in Houston, Missouri. Together they shared a life filled with family and countless memories.

Larry is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Heather Kapustka and husband, Joe, of Villa Ridge, Missouri, and Shelly Jacquin and husband, Richie, of Washington, Missouri; his siblings Terry Hoots, Jerry Hoots and wife, Glenda, Jill Hafner and husband, Steve, and Jody Hoots and wife, Mary, all of Cabool, Missouri.

He is also survived by five grandchildren: Mycala Kapustka-Aldridge and husband, Anthony, of Panama City Beach, Florida; Ian Kapustka of Pacific, Missouri; Evan Kapustka of Pacific, Missouri; Whitney Jacquin and Rory Jacquin, both of Washington, Missouri; and one great-grandchild, Oliver Aldridge.

Larry was a proud member of the Local 513 Operating Engineers.

Larry cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was a doting “Great-Papa” to little Ollie. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time on the water. He loved cooking for family and friends and hosting gatherings where laughter and love filled the room.

Larry’s greatest joy was spending time teaching his grandchildren life skills and tinkering on their cars with them. He was a man of many talents and could fix just about anything with a YouTube video.

He was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a proud Papa and Great-Papa. Larry never met a stranger, and his kindness, generosity, and warm heart touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever treasured by those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Hoots is Friday, November 7, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Historic John B. Busch Brewery Event Center, 108 Busch Avenue, Washington, Missouri.
