RONALD O. "MAC" McELWAIN, of Gray Summit, Missouri passed away April 20, 2002 in his 60th year. Mr. McElwain was born August 27, 1935 to Ruffus and Hene (nee Jeffings) McElwain.
Mac was preceded in death by both parents, and a son, Steven R. McElwain.
He is survived by two sons, Lynn and wife Debbie McElwain, Villa Ridge, Missouri and Rick and wife Cathy McElwain, Eureka, Missouri, one daughter Gwen Roach, Fenton, Missouri, four brothers Gerald McElwain, Maysville, Kentucky, Nolan McElwain, Calhoun, Kentucky, Alden McElwain, Utica, Kentucky, one half sister, Marie Head, Owensboro, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Mac served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Chrysler after 30 years. He was an active member of the Pacific Eagles, often providing help with barbecues and grounds maintenance. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping but especially loved spending time at his lot on the Gasconade River.
Visitation for Mr. McElwain was Tuesday, April 23, 2002 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. with funeral services at 7:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Missouri. Reverend Roger Johnson of First Baptist Church of Villa Ridge officiated. Visitation was also held at Muster Funeral Home, Calhoun, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with funeral services on Thursday, April 25, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Carl Sparks officiating. Interment was in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Calhoun, Kentucky.
