Thomas Lyle Lund, of Gray Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2026 at the age of 78. “Tom,” as he was known to most, was born on December 31th, 1947 in Benson, Minnesota to Lyle and Elizabeth Lund. He was a 1965 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN.

Tom married Nancy Palmer on November 26th, 1965 in Lancaster, MO. They were married for 48 years. They were blessed with one daughter and one son. Tom and Nancy’s life together began in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Park Rapids, MN in 1975 where they owned and operated a real estate business. They would later move to Detroit Lakes, MN and then to Willmar, MN. In 1995, they decided to leave Minnesota for Missouri to be closer to their grandchildren.

Tom enjoyed the simpler things in life. He had a lifelong love of golf; often you could catch him out at the course. He was still out swinging the clubs even as his health made it more difficult. He loved his dogs and cherished his time taking them on long walks. He liked working in his yard and always loved his snacks. In his younger years he was an avid runner, completing many marathons. Time around his great grandchildren brought him a lot of joy in his later years.

Tom will be sadly missed by his family. Two children: Joelle (Todd) Karl of Robertsville, MO & Cory Lund of Belleville, IL; Five grandchildren: Brandon (Jessie), Amanda, and Zach Karl, Bree Lund & Kyte Decker (Nate); Two great grandchildren: Hadley & Wyatt Karl; Brother: Doug (Debbie) Lund & Sister: Judith Lund. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Lund; Parents: Lyle & Elizabeth Lund; Sister: Joan Lund.

Tom’s family would like to extend sincere gratitude for the prayers, love and support shown by their friends and family over the past year. Our many stories and memories of Tom will never be forgotten and he will be greatly missed.
