WILLIS EDWARD NICELY, 92, passed away in grace and peace June 28, 2012 at his long term care facility of nearly two years with a staff like family, second to none.
Willis was a World War II Veteran who was highly decorated in his service to his country and fought in D-Day, Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. Willis spent his career as a carpenter with his brother, Austin Nicely, Jr. (deceased) and was a 50 plus year member of the Carpenter's Union. Willis had two brothers, Austin and Hollis, and two sisters, Fontella (deceased) and Charlotte Engler, who resides in Kansas City, Missouri. Willis also had sixteen nieces, nephews and other family, friends and all of the staff at the Arbors at South Pointe in Washington, Missouri who loved and cared for him for nearly the last two years. Willis was in the care of Heartland Hospice when he went to God.
